The Bertelsmann University focuses on collaboration and digital learning in project management

Threon GmbH, leading provider of Project, Program and Portfolio Management services, is proud to announce the successful implementation of its digital learning solution at the Bertelsmann University.

Together with Bertelsmann University Vice-President Dennis Formann and Project Manager Hanna Bensch, the project initiators Karin Beck-Sprotte (Threon GmbH) and Claudia Geier (Integrata AG) have developed a method that shapes the complex learning process efficiently and effectively. Learners obtain both individually or in teams the required knowledge for their expertise based upon clear goals, hereby enabling the immediate application in real exam simulations as well as in their professional life.

Digital Transformation Process

As part of the Bertelsmann Group’s digital transformation process, plans were developed in the beginning of 2017 to include the preparation for Project Management certifications online for Bertelsmann employees. A suitable learning platform was chosen with PMTalk®, on which digital learning paths for certifications such as PMP®, CAPM®, PRINCE2®, ITIL® and Scrum are now available since April 2018.

PMTalk®, the digital learning environment for project management

PMTalk® is used as a fully digitalized learning solution allowing on the one hand adequate training for first-time certification or re-certification in the above-mentioned subject areas. On the other hand, it promotes cooperation and the exchange of experiences within an expert community.

The distinctive feature about the online courses is that they are oriented towards collaborative learning. Trainees, for example, are in close contact to certified trainers who will provide them with real-time feedback on exam questions and results. The interactive offer is enhanced by its own project management community, which enables exchange of information between participants. The learning paths of the individual courses are composed of varied elements such as videos, exercises and exam questions. Their content is validated and meets the highest quality standards. As an online platform, PMTalk® is available to learners around the clock, allowing them to choose not only the time to study but also location and speed.

Innovative learning culture

The development of innovative forms of learning and digital learning enables a new Bertelsmann learning culture characterized by quality and flexibility. With the new learning offering, Bertelsmann University has laid a good foundation for the group's future digital learning infrastructure in the domain of project management.

A video has been published by Bertelsmann to explain to its stakeholders the true value of PMTalk®. You can watch it here.
