Laurens Chantrie: “Making a real difference, that is what an internship at Threon is all about”
“I had not heard of Threon before the KU Leuven Ekonomika job fair in April of 2017. There I met Delphine. She works on the Human Resource department and gave me a clear pitch on how Threon operates and which specific profiles they were looking for. Her enthusiasm, but also the core values of the organization, gave me such a positive feeling about the company. Quickly after our meeting, I decided to apply for an internship during next years’ first semester.
I studied Applied Economics with a major in Marketing, so I mainly supported Maïté, Head of Marketing, on internal marketing projects. Anyone who starts at Threon gets a coach or buddy assigned. As my coach, Maïté was always there to help me out or guide me through the company’s way of working.
During my internship, I took part in a lot of interesting projects which required strategic thinking, operational execution and the coordination of Threon’s social media channels. Creating a go-to market plan for the Netherlands or doing research on employer branding, … it was all part of my daily work. Besides those internal marketing projects, I was assigned to support the consultants. Since I have the ambition to start my career as a consultant, this opportunity gave me a useful insight in how Threon consultants operate and what their specific tasks are.
It was nice to see Threon effectively used my work. For example, my employer branding research and visualization were presented to the Board and subsequently put in practice. It is always super motivating when you feel you are appreciated for your work. I am truly convinced I grew on a professional and personal level during this period of my internship and for that, I would really like to thank Threon. It truly was an amazing opportunity".
