Organizational Assessment

Each project management improvement initiative has the key objective to improve project management practices. But how much improvement is necessary? What could be achieved? Where do you stand  as an organization and where do you want to go? And Why ? These fundamental questions will be resolved by the application of a maturity model. Such models provide indication on where your organization resides on a scale from "initial" to "optimized". Using standardized models here is instrumental to support your evaluation at a benchmark level.

After the determination of your actual maturity status, the subsequent question is about setting new company targets. Where do you want to go, based on the current situation, and within which timeframe? The response to this question may influence the strategic directives of your organization. Again maturity models are instrumental, as they help us to develop a roadmap to acquire your organizational capabilities to move from the current to the desired state.

Threon has examined different existing maturity models (OPM3, CMMi, ITIL,…), and integrated them into a best practice approach, that allows management to analyze the AS-IS situation, to define the future state, and to build a roadmap towards this desired state.

A major distinction is made between the achievement of compliance (process is executed, and the achievement of quality (process is executed well). This difference in taken into account in the roadmap towards excellence.

Most models focus on Projects. Threon has broadened this view by including the program & portfolio dimension.

We will assist you to select the appropriate approach and model for maturity assessment, and will lead you through the process till achievement of the desired maturity target state.

Difficult to justify ? We assist organizations in creating the business case to justify the initiative…
